About Us
– from open spaces to expression on stage –
CreActing India Trust is a center of creativity and innovation dedicated to theatre, dance, and performance arts in Bodhgaya. Rooted in the belief that artistic expression transforms both individuals and communities, our mission is to nurture the next generation of performers and creators, foster cultural exchange, and support the growth of each participant as an artist and as a human being.
Our faculty of experienced theatre practitioners, choreographers, and educators from India and abroad share their professional expertise with passion and dedication. They inspire students not only to develop strong artistic skills but also to explore their individuality, imagination, and sense of responsibility within society.
We offer a wide range of programmes tailored to different needs. Full-time intensive training in theatre and performance prepares young artists for professional careers, while short-term workshops and residencies give participants the chance to expand and deepen their knowledge. Alongside these, our community classes for children, youth, and adults open the world of performance to people of all ages and backgrounds, encouraging creativity, confidence, and personal growth.
Located in the spiritual and cultural heart of Bodhgaya, our campus provides an environment where diversity, collaboration, and curiosity are celebrated. Students work across disciplines, engage with guest artists from around the world, and present their creations to a variety of audiences. In this way, they gain not only technical and artistic training but also real-life experience in sharing art as a dialogue with others.
Beyond the classroom, CreActing India Trust serves as a platform for exchange, hosting workshops, studios, and collaborative projects that connect local voices with international perspectives. This blend of tradition and innovation ensures that our community remains both deeply rooted and forward-looking.
At CreActing India Trust, the performing arts are more than a craft – they are a way to learn, heal, connect, and grow. We welcome everyone to be part of our open and inclusive community.
CreActing India Trust – Where art becomes a way of life.
– DOING DANCE AND IMPROVISATION THEATRE CAN HAVE EFFECTS ON YOUR DAILY LIFE –
…enhance self-esteem.
It requires courage to confront yourself with the unknown. If you dare to, you can discover new aspects and abilities in yourself, that have always been there but you didn’t know. Your personality broadens and grows. Speaking to groups and speaking up for yourself becomes more natural for you.
….enrich self-expression.
The audience and other artists give you direct feedback on your expression through their reactions. So you can see how others perceive you. You can ask yourself: “Do they understand what I mean to express? Do I like the way I express, or do I want to change? How would it feel to be somebody else?” Improvisation theatre and dance is not for some special kind of people who are creative or artistic. The stage is the perfect place to try out different ways for expressing yourself!
– DANCE AND IMPROVISATION THEATRE IS FOR EVERYONE! –
..develop the art of failing.
It is allowed to make mistakes, they are the best way to learn. You can learn to fail and not be bothered by it. Stand up again and go on! Next step, next chance! There is no strive for perfection from outside. Instead, we open up the space for authentic expression from inside. After, you have the chance to reflect on your actions, with the help of others. You can learn a lot about yourself!
…cultivate cooperation.
Good improvisation is only possible when the artist attune to one another. Any unspoken conflicts within the group will become visible on the stage – and may be solved there or after. The ability to cooperate with others means, among other things, to accept proposals and to build on them. This can be practised in improvisation theatre, where results are immediately visible.
…build trust and improve relationships.
The theatre process strengthens the group and there are even special exercises for building up trust. Mutual trust is necessary for all interactions. For managing a show together, everybody needs to be able to rely on everybody. Acting together, and also preparing a show together, brings a group together. Observing others and experiencing yourself in interaction you can learn a lot about relationship, and enrich your ways of relating to others.
…connect cultures and languages
The language of emotions and non-verbal communication is universal and can take place across cultures. Even a mix of languages on the stage is possible. It will be understood if the expression is clear. It’s mainly a matter of energy. Furthermore you practise to talk fluently in English with fun and without pressure. Interactions involve not only words, but also dance, acrobatics, and pantomime.
Voices out of the community
“When I came to CreActing India, I was accepted without any judgment. Even though I had many questions in my mind, with time, they all began to fade away. Initially, I had come to CreActing India just for a 2-month workshop, but I never imagined that I would end up wanting to stay here forever.
At CreActing India, I gained a lot of confidence and learned how to take care of myself. I also found a new family here—one that never let me feel the absence of my home. I learned so many things here that I probably wouldn’t have been able to learn anywhere else. I improved so much in both dance and acting.
The time I spent here has been the most beautiful time of my life. It kept teaching me something new every moment. I started noticing even the smallest things, tried to understand the people around me, and learned something valuable from each experience. Maybe that’s why I’ve become more mature than many others my age.
CreActing India gave me so much happiness, the freedom to truly live my life, and the opportunity to build my future. One of the biggest blessings from my journey here is that I got the opportunity to be in Germany in 2025—and I’m currently touring here, living a dream I never thought possible.
I truly believe that the experiences I’ve gained at CreActing India will be incredibly valuable in my future.
Thank you, CreActing India!”

“Welcome to CreActing India Trust, and thank you for taking the time to Explore about our journey.
Since 2017, our mission has been to provide a safe and creative space for youth.
A place where they can explore self-development, empowerment, confidence, and creativity through the powerful tools of dance and theatre.
We began with nothing but art and a deep passion for transformation. Over the years, we have stayed true to our vision and achieved so much. The smiles on the faces of our participants and their personal growth stand as proof of our success.
We are proud to share that our young performers have already travelled to Europe five times, presenting powerful pieces through three-month tours—an experience that has expanded their world and deepened their confidence.
However, this year brought a difficult chapter. We lost our cultural centre, the heart and home of our community. It’s a painful truth—but even in this moment, our spirit remains strong. We still believe in the power of art, in the resilience of youth, and in the mission we started with.
As we begin this new chapter, I warmly invite you to be part of our journey. Together, hand in hand, we can rebuild, inspire, and continue to change lives—through passion, art, and unity.”
